Initial caries in a child: what to do?

children brush their teeth

Dentist Yulia Begovatkina told what to do if stains are found on a child's teeth.

The main thing is not to panic and not let the process take its course, the doctor says. At the initial stage, you can still fix it.

“In terms of home care, once stains are discovered, oral hygiene should become even more meticulous, even manic. We clean the child’s teeth with a brush and paste every day in the morning and evening,” the expert notes.
It is also advisable to brush your teeth after every meal during the day. No, not too much, don't worry.

If it is not possible to brush during the day, then we wipe our teeth with special dental wipes. After sweets, be sure to clean.

We add another type of care for schoolchildren – flossing. It is advisable to rinse the oral cavity with a special solution or foam (sold in a pharmacy).

Be sure to add funds for remineralization. They will help create a protective film on the teeth invisible to the eye, fill microcracks with calcium and phosphates.

Such products are applied with a brush or an ordinary cotton swab over all teeth. The course of using remineralizers is a month, every day 4-5 times, until the carious process stabilizes. This is not an analogue of toothpaste, but an addition to it.

Food to protect against child caries

We are not limited to home care. Every 3-6 months we have a professional teeth cleaning at the dentist. Even if it seems to you that your teeth are already clean and beautiful. Believe me, there is something to get!

But it is not necessary to silver your teeth when carious spots appear on them.
