In India, a connection was found between the use of sesame and protection against cancer, doctor Belaeva spoke about its antibacterial properties

Sesame is often added to baked goods to enhance their beneficial properties.

The active components of this plant can heal wounds, protect the liver from oxidative processes, reduce cholesterol levels, stabilize blood pressure, normalize digestion and prevent cancer.

Sesame is rich in healthy fats, protein, vitamins, fiber and minerals. Consumption of this seasoning has a beneficial effect on well-being, maintains healthy bones and gives the body energy.

In Ayurvedic medicine, sesame oil is used in the complex therapy of hepatitis, migraines, diabetes, as well as in the treatment of psoriasis and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity.
In addition, sesame is able to remove plaque and help in the treatment of chronic sinusitis. It can also be used as a mild laxative, reported Hindustan Times.

Sesame seeds are rich in protein, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. They are commonly added to certain foods to give them a nutty flavor and crunchy texture.

Nutritionist Belaeva Lana, especially for MedicForum, told what sesame can do in addition to cancer prevention.

“Sesame seeds are also used as an ingredient in soaps, cosmetics, lubricants and medicines. There's a reason people have grown sesame seeds around the world since prehistoric times: they are beneficial in many ways,” Belaeva says.

Infection Fighting

Sesamin and sesamolin in sesame seeds are known for their antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Antioxidants are important for your health because they protect the body from various diseases by slowing down cell damage.

“The antibacterial activity of sesame seeds helps fight staph infections and pharyngitis, as well as common skin fungi such as athlete's foot,” says the doctor.

Oral health

Sesame seeds also help get rid of from bacteria that cause plaque on teeth. An ancient practice called oil pulling has been proven to improve oral hygiene and health when done regularly and correctly. Sesame oil is one of the most common oils used in this practice, which involves swishing a tablespoon of oil around your mouth when you wake up in the morning.

Help treat diabetes

Studies show that sesame seed oil increases the effectiveness of traditional medications for type 2 diabetes when taken together.
Type 2 diabetes is a lifelong disease that prevents the body from producing insulin properly. One aspect of this condition is high blood sugar, called hyperglycemia.

“Eating healthy foods like sesame seeds can help people with type 2 diabetes reach their target blood sugar levels. Additionally, the antioxidants in sesame oil reduce blood sugar levels.”
