Gastroenterologist Evgenia Melnikova: addiction to fruits can harm the body, which receives too much sugar with them.

Fruits are considered useful as a source of fiber , vitamins and microelements. But doctor Melnikova stated in an interview: these gifts of nature should be consumed exclusively in moderation.

“Fruits, if consumed in excess, can cause serious harm to health,” the doctor shared with Gazeta.Ru.
Melnikova noted that fruits can be a very rich source of sugars, in particular fructose. This type of sugar, when absorbed by the human body, stimulates the active release of the hormone insulin, which in turn is associated with intensive fat production. Thus, eating fruits too often and in large quantities (especially very ripe and sweet ones) can be a factor in such problems as fatty liver, insulin resistance, excess weight.

“Excessive consumption of fructose can lead to negative consequences: fatty liver disease, obesity, diabetes,” the specialist warned about the dangers of fruits.
Other pathologies that can develop due to the abuse of fruits and fructose are kidney disorders, vascular atherosclerosis, accelerated external aging.

Where there is especially a lot of fructose – in bananas, mangoes, grapes, pineapples, kiwi, cherries.

Doctor Melnikova advised to carefully control the amount of fruit in the diet – especially with a sedentary lifestyle and sedentary work. In addition, sweet fruits should not be consumed on an empty stomach or in the evening.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that a lack of zinc in the diet “helps” the occurrence of malignant tumors.
