Maria Kaloshina warned that the brain of a sleeping person reacts in a specific way to night noises and light, which should not be there at this time of day. At the same time, the production of melatonin, an antioxidant, also known as the “sleep hormone,” is disrupted. The specialist stated that if the normal production of melatonin is disrupted, a person is deprived of the opportunity to get a good night's sleep, which negatively affects the production of hormones. The resulting hormonal imbalance leads to chronic stress, excessive appetite, overeating and fat accumulation.
