According to doctor Zuhra Pavlova, the lack of excess weight, despite a fairly large amount of food eaten per day, can signal health problems.

Endocrinologist Pavlova said in an interview why people who eat a lot can remain slim and even thin. The doctor noted that those with a very active metabolism are distinguished by this quality – it may be an innate feature of the body. In people with such an organism, the body spends a lot of energy on physiological processes.

“The energy that comes into the body with food can be spent on its needs – on some chemical reactions, on movement, the work of the heart, brain, lungs, and so on,” Zukhra Pavlova told Sputnik radio.
At the same time time, the doctor clarified, accelerated metabolism as a variant of the norm is rare. Therefore, you need to keep in mind: thinness with a rich diet can signal illness.

Doctor Pavlova named the pathological reasons for the lack of excess weight in those who eat a lot. One of the pathologies in which metabolism occurs at an increased speed is thyrotoxicosis (also known as hyperthyroidism, increased function of the thyroid gland). Also, a similar effect can be caused by nodes on the gland.

In addition, the lack of excess weight in those who eat a lot can be explained by parasites and worms. But usually what is observed is not just slimness – the person also looks bad, complains of fatigue, and feels unwell for no reason. All this is a consequence of intoxication of the body with the substances secreted by parasites.

In addition, thinness, maintained despite a good appetite and large portions of food, can signal conditions in which the processes of normal digestion and absorption of food in the gastrointestinal tract are disrupted. This, for example, can happen with food intolerance, celiac disease, bacterial imbalance in the intestines, infections, cancer.
