Doctor Orfanova: honey and margarine reduce female hormones

Doctor Idilia Orfanova told the Russians what popular natural sweet can reduce the level of female hormones.

Research has shown that such a product, which turns out to contain boron, is honey. An alternative to sugar, even one as environmentally friendly as honey, is not harmless.

Especially for the publication Gazeta.Ru, doctor Idilia Orfanova explained why honey and some other products are dangerous for female hormones.< br>
“You shouldn’t overuse honey, since it contains boron, which reduces the level of female hormones and increases the production of male ones,” the doctor noted.
In addition, Orfanova included margarine and alcohol in the list. They can radically change the hormonal levels in the female body.

“It is also recommended to limit or completely eliminate white yeast breads and buns from the diet, which mainly consist of empty calories, starch and yeast.”

What is a hormonal imbalance?

Doctor -gynecologist Elizaveta Komarova agreed with her colleague and specifically named for MedicForuma number of products that affect female hormones.

“Hormonal imbalance is when the body has an excess or deficiency of a certain hormone, when female hormone levels fluctuate too high or too low, whether due to life stages such as puberty or health conditions such as diabetes, it can lead to to hormonal imbalance,” says Komarova.
This imbalance can cause problems such as PCOS, irregular periods, weight gain, acne, difficulty conceiving or infertility.

< h3>Processed foods

“Processed foods contain a lot of preservatives, salt and sugar. These ingredients can lead to inflammation and stress of the adrenal glands, which can lead to weight gain and serious hormonal problems,” explains gynecologist Komarova.
Food processing is a broad spectrum, and Not all processed foods are unhealthy. Some foods must be processed to ensure they are safe to eat, such as pasteurizing milk to kill harmful bacteria.

Ultra-processed foods contain many additives such as preservatives, colors, artificial flavors, sweeteners and other substances that change the texture or appearance of the foods. It is recommended to avoid this type of food or consume it in moderation.

Sugar and sweet drinks

“Consuming sugary foods and drinks, such as candy, chocolate, cakes, soft drinks and artificially flavored fruit juices, can harm your hormones. These foods can gradually reduce the sensitivity of leptin and ghrelin, two hormones that play an important role in signaling satiety and appetite regulation,” says Komarova.
Moreover, consuming sugar causes a spike in insulin levels. Too much insulin can cause low levels of a crucial protein called sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG).

SHBG helps regulate the level of testosterone that your body's tissues can use. However, when SHBG levels are low, the amount of testosterone increases, and too much testosterone in women can cause problems.
