Doctor Glagolev clarified the pressure at which medications are needed to protect against stroke

measurement of pressure
According to cardiologist Vladimir Glagolev, increased blood pressure is closely related to a person’s susceptibility to a stroke or heart attack.

Doctor Glagolev stated that blood pressure, which many Russians would consider normal, “working” and not dangerous, in fact seriously increases the risk of cardiovascular accidents, including stroke.

“Already at 130/80 it increases risk of strokes and heart attacks,” warned a specialist on the Telegram channel of the European Medical Center.
Referring to research results, Vladimir Glagolev clarified that a systolic (upper) pressure of 130 doubles the risk of these pathologies (compared to the probability that exists at a pressure of 120).

The cardiologist also pointed out the pressure at which medications are needed to protect against stroke:

“An indicator of 140/90 millimeters of mercury, detected during repeated measurements.”
Vladimir Glagolev emphasized that blood pressure of such a parameter requires mandatory prescription of medications – this effectively helps reduce the risks of dangerous cardiovascular disorders. If high blood pressure is not controlled and corrected, a person is at serious risk of suffering from encephalopathy, dementia, stroke, and kidney failure.

For blood pressure reaching 130, reasonable options for lowering should be discussed with your doctor. The cardiologist recalled that adequate physical activity, weight control, practicing proper nutrition, quitting smoking and other bad habits help to have healthy blood pressure.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that a sign of diseases of the cardiovascular system there may be changes in the appearance of the tongue.
