Another drug that Russians often buy on their own is nitroglycerin. According to the cardiologist, this is not necessary. Taking nitroglycerin (unlike Corvalol is a medicine) should always be discussed with the treating specialist, since it is used only for certain diagnoses.
“It is important to consider its risks – nitroglycerin can sharply lower blood pressure and worsen, rather than improve, the condition . In addition, nitroglycerin dilates blood vessels, which can cause a severe headache,” the doctor advised to remember.
