Neurologist Raziyat Chupanova: a tendency to weather dependence occurs in people due to health problems.

Meteor dependence is sometimes called a far-fetched condition, but the doctor Chupanova stated that this is not so – research confirms the tendency of some people to deteriorate their health due to weather changes. The neurologist said in an interview that this is usually closely related to existing chronic pathologies. The doctor said: people with chronic diseases have a lower pain threshold, which seriously affects their well-being when the weather changes.

Chupanova named the pathologies that cause weather dependence – among them, the doctor identified arthritis and heart disease, mental disorders.

“Most often, weather sensitivity manifests itself in people with bronchial asthma, rheumatism, arthritis, anxiety and depressive disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and migraines,” the neurologist clarified in a comment to Lente.ru.
The specialist added that certain diseases can reduce the compensatory and adaptive capabilities of the body, so it becomes unable to quickly adapt to changes in the external environment. For example, colder air causes constriction of blood vessels, and heat causes them to expand. With low adaptive capabilities, the body does not have time to compensate for such vascular processes – as a result, poor health may occur.

“In case of cardiovascular pathology, discomfort is caused by an increase in ambient temperature, and in chronic bronchopulmonary diseases, health worsens when the air temperature decreases or atmospheric pressure,” said the doctor.
The MedikForum.ru portal previously wrote about what severe drowsiness that occurs in hot weather can mean.
