Famous doctor Alexander Myasnikov told in an interview what helps him look impressively youthful at over 70 years old.

Alexander Myasnikov is 71 years old, but looking at him it is hard to believe – the “TV doctor” is in excellent physical shape and looks much younger than his “passport” age. He does not hide the fact that he takes care of himself, adheres to a healthy diet, controls his weight, plays sports and prefers leisure activities that involve active physical exercise.

Myasnikov said that physical activity is the number one factor in prolonging human life. For those who cannot afford to go to the gym, he recommends walking as often as possible.

“Research says: if you can't do gymnastics every day, then you can just walk, and not even 10,000, but 7,000 steps is already good. This clearly prolongs life, walking alone is enough to prevent depression and dementia. It has been proven that those who walk regularly live longer and get sick less often,” the doctor told the AiF publication.
Doctor Myasnikov also told how you can “program” your body not to get sick. He emphasized: to strengthen your natural immunity, you need to avoid excess weight, and also have regular reasonable physical activity and harden yourself. According to the doctor, his parents taught him to sleep with the window open all year round since childhood, and at the age of 50 he tried diving into an ice hole for the first time, and since then he has been happy to do this in winter.

“Cold water is one of the greatest doctors,” Alexander Myasnikov is convinced.
He also revealed his personal secret of youthfulness at 70 years old. According to the doctor, this “secret” is his inner attitude – he simply does not consider himself an old man and believes that he will live a long time. There must be a certain courage in a person’s soul, the doctor believes.

“It doesn’t matter when you actually die, but when you are set for 150 years, you live like a young person. And when you are set to 70, you understand that soon retirement and illness, you set yourself up for a shorter life. It is important for me to keep the boy in me.”
