Dietitian Irina Pisareva spoke about products that have zero and negative calories. We are talking about food, the digestion of which takes as many or more calories than they contain.
These are greens, cucumbers, seaweed, celery, cabbage, asparagus, cucumbers, zucchini.
— For example, in a piece of cucumber 10 kcal, and for chewing and digestion we spend 15 kcal – we get a product with a negative calorie content. This information is useful for those who are going to lose weight, because when losing weight you do not need to go on a starvation diet. It is enough to include in your diet in large quantities products that have zero calorie content, – said the doctor RT.
The fact that negative-calorie foods burn fat is a myth. Greens, cucumbers, algae and other above-mentioned products speed up metabolism and improve digestion.
Of course, the cooking method plays a big role, and if zucchini is rolled in flour and fried in a large amount of oil, they will cease to be a dietary product. Like a salad of cucumbers and greens, generously flavored with mayonnaise.
