Autumn is the time of seasonal colds and acute respiratory viral infections. During this period, it is especially important to provide your body with vitamins.
As therapist Yana Shmeleva explained, there is no specific product that must be eaten only in the fall.
— What is more important is what vitamins are generally in short supply in the autumn period, and we should try to eat foods that contain them, — the doctor noted.
The main one is vitamin C, it helps the immune system fight viruses and bacteria.
Sources of vitamin C: citrus fruits, kiwi, mango, garlic, sorrel, parsley, cabbage, pepper, rose hips, various berries.
Vitamin D is necessary. Its main source is sunlight. In the autumn period, additional consumption of foods rich in it is necessary.
Sources: fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, herring, tuna), dairy products, eggs (especially yolks).
Vitamin A is also necessary in the fall, it maintains the health of the skin and mucous membranes, barriers against infection.
Vitamin A is found in potatoes, carrots, spinach and pumpkin.
