In June of this year, less than 100,000 coronavirus infections were detected in Russia. This is quite comparable to March 2020, that is, the time the pandemic began in our country.
The Operational Headquarters for Combating the Spread of Coronavirus Infection has released new data showing that the number of positive PCR tests during June was less than 100,000 people. In May, this number exceeded 149,000, which means it has decreased by more than a third. In total, from June 1 to June 30, positive tests for coronavirus were detected in 98,876 Russians. In recent months, the weekly incidence rate in our country has not exceeded 2.5-3 thousand.

Note that in February 2022, the number of positive tests for coronavirus exceeded 4.5 million people, this was the peak of the latest wave provoked by the Omicron strain. It can be assumed that now in Russia there are simply far fewer tests, since most of those infected carry the coronavirus without symptoms or in a mild form. It is all the more useful to look at other figures, including mortality.
The incidence of coronavirus in Russia fell to the levels of autumn 2020
In June, it was the lowest since April 2020. For the month – 1,995 deaths, which is almost 39% lower than in May. In general, the mortality rate decreased from 2.17% to 2.02% of the number of cases. This is even less than the average for the entire pandemic, which was 2.07%.
