Super vaccine against all types of coronavirus is almost ready

Super-vaccination against all types of coronavirus is almost ready
Scientists have come close to developing an injection that helps to overcome any type of coronavirus. This was made possible by the discovery of a part of the pathogen that is identical in all its variants.

Researchers at the Francis Crick Institute have come close to creating a universal super-vaccine against all types of coronavirus. They believe that this is quite possible and will help prevent future pandemics. In theory, the vaccine would provide protection not only against all variants of COVID-19, but even against the coronaviruses that cause the common cold. This was made possible by the discovery of a characteristic shared by all members of the coronavirus family.

A vaccine against various types of colds has been developed

This is what prevented the development of universal drugs against these pathogens earlier. And now laboratory experiments on mice have shown that exposure to one region located in the coronavirus spike protein can protect not only against the original Wuhan strain, but also against all subsequent variants, including Alpha, Beta, Delta and Omicron. Rodents also developed antibodies well equipped to fight the common cold-causing coronaviruses, as well as two distinct bat varieties.

Although the results of this study seem promising, the very technology behind the development of an experimental vaccine has not yet been tested in humans. This is a DNA-based vaccine that uses genetic material from SARS-CoV-2 to stimulate the body to produce antibodies against the pathogen.
