Russia quickly developed a monkeypox vaccine

A vaccine against monkeypox was quickly developed in Russia
A Russian vaccine against monkeypox was created at the Federal Medical and Biological Agency. At the moment, this drug is going through preclinical studies, according to the head of the agency, Veronika Skvortsova.

In an interview with RIA Novosti, she said that this vaccine is based on the so-called vector technology, like the domestic vaccines against coronavirus that are popular in Russia. It is currently being tested for safety and tolerability, and will be followed by larger studies that will demonstrate the immunogenicity of the drug. At the same time, earlier the World Health Organization admitted that they do not yet have any information about the effectiveness of the monkeypox vaccines already in use.

This African disease, exotic to the Western world, suddenly began to spread around the planet a few months ago. More than 95% of those infected are representatives of the LGBT community, since the main route of infection is sex. However, it is theoretically possible to become infected through other types of contact with people, but only if these contacts are fairly dense. That is why the infected are urged not to visit places with mass gatherings of people.
