Rospotrebnadzor does not believe in the disappearance of the virus
The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova believes that the coronavirus pandemic may end in the near future. At the same time, the coronavirus itself will not disappear anywhere.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, confirmed the widespread opinion among scientists from around the world that the coronavirus will not disappear from our planet, as happened, for example, with the smallpox virus. This is due to the fact that COVID-19 is an acute respiratory viral infection, which means that it will continue to cyclically affect people in different countries of the world, possibly causing local outbreaks. Thus, the global pandemic may end, but the virus itself will never.

Popova said that almost all people now have friends or relatives who have been ill, died from coronavirus or are ill with it at the moment. It has affected hundreds of millions of people on the planet, and it is simply impossible to exterminate such a pathogen. However, the incidence of pandemic scale can move into a smaller endemic category, and this is quite obvious.

Anna Popova noted that people should not completely relax amid the possible end of the pandemic. We must not forget about the observance of elementary precautions, including wearing masks in public places, washing hands, and disinfecting various kinds of surfaces. These measures are useful for any respiratory infections, not just coronavirus. (READ MORE) Rospotrebnadzor
