When is a late dinner guaranteed to lead to weight gain?
Therapist and nutritionist Anastasia Atyunina called evening overeating a “dangerous addiction” because it “imperceptibly turns into a strong addiction.”
A person begins to perceive food as a reward, a sedative. Control over the amount eaten is lost.
— If there was no normal food intake during the day, and in the evening a person ate his fill, then the risk of weight gain increases. Evening calories will go to fat not because they are evening, but because they are the only ones, — the doctor explained.
Sleep is also unlikely to be of high quality — the body will be busy digesting food. Lack of sleep leads to increased appetite, and a vicious circle arises.
Atyunina recommends dividing food into three main meals and two or three snacks, this will help avoid sugar surges and the emergence of a strong feeling of hunger.

- Breathing problems (such as sleep apnea)
- Psychological problems (depression and low self-esteem)
