Oncologist, candidate of medical sciences Evgeny Cheremushkin named the factors that provoke the development of tongue cancer. These are smoking, frequent burns and organ injury.
— So the myth that you can get cancer from burns is not a myth at all. The tongue is often damaged because people bite it, burn it, rub dentures, and it is quite difficult to diagnose because the mucous membrane of the tongue is constantly changing, Cheremushkin noted.
Tongue cancer is quite difficult to treat, the doctor warned.
Symptoms
Tongue cancer manifests itself in the form of ulcers and tumors. There may be pain, difficulty swallowing, voice changes and numbness of the tongue, changes in the color or texture of the tongue.
