Nutritionist Kabanov: Pork, lamb and fatty milk especially increase cholesterol

meat
According to the nutritionist-consultant, deputy director of the ANO Scientific Center “Healthy Nutrition” Alexey Kabanov, pork and lamb especially strongly increase the level of cholesterol in the blood.

The process of increasing cholesterol can be divided into three components. The first is products that contain too much saturated fat.

— These are meat products and their derivatives, sausages and ham, dairy products, especially fatty milk. Excessive consumption of fatty meats — pork, lamb — especially increases harmful cholesterol, — noted Kabanov.

The second component is products with added sugar. Sweets, in principle, increase cholesterol.

The third is that cholesterol increases due to a lack of products with unsaturated omega-3 fats. The doctor advises including fatty fish, olive oil, and walnuts in the diet.

Let us recall the signs of high cholesterol in the blood:

Chest pain. May occur due to narrowing of the arteries, which leads to insufficient blood supply to the heart.

Shortness of breath may occur during physical exertion or at rest due to cardiovascular problems.

A constant feeling of fatigue associated with circulatory problems.

Memory problems. High cholesterol can affect cognitive function.

The presence of yellowish spots on the skin (xanthelasma) or around the eyes.

High blood pressure is often associated with high cholesterol.
