Medical check up: why it is important to plan your health
Medical check up is not a new service and partly resembles a classic medical examination, which takes place as part of the state medical examination. Unlike medical examination, check-up takes place in commercial clinics and can apply not only to the whole body, but also to specific organs or a specific group of diseases, and include a wider range of studies.

Clinical examinations are carried out according to compulsory medical insurance and at the place of residence. The check-up blade, as well as the examination program itself, can be selected independently. Medical PortalAllmed helps you choose and compare treatment and diagnostic programs in different clinics.
Medical check up meets the objectives of prevention and helps to identify symptoms of hidden diseases and health risk factors at an early stage. Regular medical examinations allow you to get a complete picture of your health in order, for example, to go in for sports without fear for the work of the heart, ligaments and joints, to plan a pregnancy, to correct identified deficiencies in a timely manner, to maintain immunity in a “working” state and to more confidently look to the future.

It is recommended to undergo an annual checkup after the age of 30. At this time, too much depends on health and well-being: children appear, new career prospects open up, strength is needed for hobbies and self-development. Regular medical examinations are especially important for those who take a lot of medications, especially if this is done chaotically. It is necessary to keep under control not only prescribing drugs, for example, for heartburn, pressure or headaches, but also taking vitamins.
General health assessment may include:

  • general clinical blood count;
  • blood test for cholesterol and glucose, for ALT, AST, creatinine, TSH;
  • blood test for HIV, hepatitis, syphilis;
  • fecal test for occult blood, worm eggs,
  • general urinalysis,
  • ECG (at rest and with exercise);
  • fluorography;
  • ultrasound of the thyroid gland, abdominal organs;
  • consultation of a doctor at the final stage.

Check up for women's health may additionally include an ultrasound examination of the uterus and appendages, mammary glands, a blood test for hormones of the female reproductive system, and a consultation with a gynecologist. Men's health assessments include ultrasonography of the urinary tract and prostate gland, a blood test for hormones, and determination of the level of prostate-specific antigen.
The results of the tests should be interpreted by a physician. Based on the results of the general checkup, additional clarifying analyzes and examinations may be prescribed.
