Many people suffer from various addictions, from cigarettes, alcohol and gambling, to painkillers. Chocolate addiction is one of the most common, and it is not as easy to get rid of it as many people think.
The craving for chocolate can be so strong that it makes a person go out to the store in the middle of the night and buy himself a bar or two. In psychology, this addiction is explained as the inability to control the actions, reception or use of something to such an extent that it can harm you. Sometimes such chocoholics are also called chocolate addicts. Now, researchers at the Birham & Womens Hospital in the US have identified a specific target in the brain that appears to be causing this addiction. It could theoretically be turned off using a technique called transcranial magnetic stimulation.
Swallowed magnets collect more victims
It involves the application of a device similar to a table tennis racket to various parts of the head. The device creates highly focused magnetic pulses that generate an electrical current that alters the activity of parts of the brain closest to the device. Although it sounds a little intimidating, in reality, the procedure does not entail any increased risks. And pain is not accompanied.
Scientists talk about chocolate addiction
