An unusual case of rapid labor occurred in Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Vladivostok. A patient who came to the emergency department of the medical institution became a mother in a short time after that – she unexpectedly quickly gave birth to a child.
As reported in the hospital's Telegram channel, the woman denied pregnancy until the very end. Her child was born practically during an examination by a doctor. Everything happened in a matter of minutes.
“They sat me down in a chair, brought me to the examination room. And then the labor began…! Rapid! Literally five minutes later, a boy was born, wrapped in an umbilical cord,” shared the head of the hospital's emergency department, Elena Kuzina.
She added that the doctors provided the patient with highly professional care and quickly freed the baby from the umbilical cord. As soon as the newborn was unwound, he, as expected, announced himself with his first cry. Further examination showed that the condition of the child and the new mother was normal. They were taken to the maternity hospital by an ambulance.
“Although our multidisciplinary hospital is not designed to accept births, our specialists did everything at the highest level. We have a full set of necessary instruments in the emergency room,” Elena Kuzina emphasized.
Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that in Russia, for the first time, a woman with cystic fibrosis was able to get pregnant and give birth to a healthy child.
