And now this gap has been filled by scientists from the Barcelona Institute for Global Health.

They specifically looked at the benefits that children who live in cities with a large number of parks and gardens. It turned out that the effect is very significant. The more green spaces there were in cities, the more physically active children turned out to be, they walked more often, rode bicycles and generally moved. Even the quality of their sleep was better in this case.

In cities where there are more men than women, there are more weddings

The researchers analyzed 1,581 children aged 6 to 11 from countries including the UK, France, Spain, Lithuania, Norway and Greece. At the same time, the number of green spaces within cities was not the only factor that was taken into account. In reality, 32 parameters were analyzed, and they were consistently excluded in order to assess the influence of cities as objectively as possible.
