Eye test predicts heart disease risk

Eye test predicts risk of heart disease
A routine eye test will help doctors predict risk of developing cardiovascular disease. The artificial intelligence used here will even determine the probability of death in the next 10 years.

Research suggests that scanning the inside of the eyes can predict the likelihood of premature death. This will help the developed artificial intelligence program that can detect early signs of heart problems. This program measures the thickness of the small arteries and veins at the back of the eye, which scientists say holds key information about heart health.

Google can help diagnose heart attacks in the eyes

If a person has circulatory problems, they can cause the blood vessels in the retina to thicken and eventually lead to loss of vision if left untreated. The study involved 88,000 people in the UK, and the test predicted 54% of heart attacks and strokes, as well as 58% of deaths from heart disease.

Adolescent heart disease risk can be determined by eyes

Doctors say this test is a non-invasive alternative to checking heart health with regular eye exams. This is very important, given that cardiovascular diseases are the main cause of death for Russian citizens, annually they claim the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. At the same time, there are no clear recommendations on how often you should check yourself for heart disease. (READ MORE)
