Dr. Spector: Dark chocolate reduces the risk of diabetes and colon cancer

шоклад
According to the famous British nutritionist Tim Spector, if you include dark chocolate in your daily diet, it will help protect the body from the development of type 2 diabetes, bowel cancer and a number of other diseases.

Spector told the Daily Mail that 20 grams of chocolate with at least 70% cocoa contains the same amount of fiber as a slice of whole grain bread.

Fiber is not only needed for good digestion, but also for the prevention of diabetes, stroke and bowel cancer.

Cocoa beans contain a large amount of polyphenols, which have a powerful antioxidant effect. They normalize blood pressure, improve blood circulation and have a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system.

Spector recommends eating chocolate daily – 20 grams. We are talking about a quality product without unnecessary additives.

Dark chocolate has many beneficial properties if you don't get carried away with it:

  • Rich in flavonoids and other antioxidants.
  • Moderate consumption of dark chocolate can improve blood circulation, reduce bad cholesterol (LDL) and increase good cholesterol (HDL).
  • Chocolate promotes the production of serotonin and endorphins, which can improve mood and reduce stress.
  • Flavonoids in dark chocolate improve cognitive function and memory.
  • Dark chocolate can help lower blood pressure due to its relaxing effect on blood vessels.
  • Contains vitamins and minerals such as iron, magnesium, copper and manganese.

Remember that excessive consumption of chocolate, even such a healthy one, can lead to an increase in the calorie content of the diet and weight gain.
