Doctors predict a new wave of influenza in Russia in January

sick SARS
The second half of January will see a new surge in the incidence of influenza – the so-called wave, this was reported by immunologist Irina Yartseva.

Immunologist and therapist Yartseva voiced in an interview a forecast about the upcoming new wave of influenza in Russia. Prior to this, Rospotrebnadzor announced that in the country during the week of the New Year holidays, the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza dropped sharply. The decline in cases of infection with respiratory infections was 52%. Doctor Yartseva, talking with Lenta.ru, noted that such a decrease is a completely natural process.

Scientists shared a forecast about the time of the rise of influenza in Russia

“During the holidays, people were separated, the transmission of viruses from person to person was reduced. Thanks to the holidays, no one went to schools, universities, and the number of office workers decreased. Such a break in social ties can be compared to covid restrictions,” the expert stated.
However, the conditional barrier that stopped the massive transmission of the virus that developed during the holidays has ceased to exist. Ahead of the Russians is a new round of morbidity, the doctor is convinced.

The Ministry of Health predicted an increase in mortality from influenza

“A new wave is waiting for us, it falls just in the second half of January,” the immunologist warned.< br>Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that children in Russia began to get sick more often with coronavirus and flu at the same time.
