According to Marina Shestakova, director of the Institute of Diabetes at the National Medical Research Center for Endocrinology of the Ministry of Health, if you get rid of excess weight in a timely manner, a person suffering from type 2 diabetes may go into remission. Sometimes it is enough to lose 10 percent of weight.

One of the main causes of type 2 diabetes is obesity. Prevention of the disease is to monitor your weight.

– And if you reduce the spring by 10-15%, then even if he has diabetes, he can go into remission – said Shestakova.

The most common type of complication that accompanies diabetes is blindness. This disease affects the retina. The kidneys are also affected. More than half of the patients in dialysis centers are diabetics.

According to nutritionist Mariyat Mukhina, in order to get rid of cravings for food, you need to slightly change your diet and choose the right replacement for sweets and cakes. The doctor advises paying attention to foods rich in chromium. These are whole grain cereals, cheese, nuts. We are also talking about eggs, tomatoes, broccoli, lean meat, offal.
