According to her, of all cereals, only it contains the amino acid lysine, which is necessary for maintaining normal hormonal levels and the production of immune cells.

Lysine is not synthesized in the human body, so it must be regularly supplied from food.

The doctor gave me a recipe for a healthy pearl barley salad with tomatoes. 

Soak half a glass of pearl barley and cook until tender. 
Cut 3-4 tomatoes into small pieces.
Cut one red onion into half rings, sprinkle with lemon juice and mix. 
Add greens.
For dressing, mix the juice of half a lemon, 1 tsp sugar, a pinch of salt and 1-2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
Let the salad sit for 15-20 minutes.
