The number of deaths of Russians from the consequences of diabetes has increased several times, according to Rosstat data.

“Over the past 10 years, the number of Russians dying annually due to diabetes has grown almost five times,” the agency informed.
Doctors warn that such a disease as diabetes contributes to shortening life by 10-12 years. Diabetes can develop secretly for a long time, while a high blood sugar level negatively affects the organs and systems of the body, provokes vascular disorders, and inflammatory processes. Diabetes is often diagnosed when the damage it causes to the functioning of the body turns out to be dangerous, critical.
The consequences of diabetes are such conditions as stroke, heart disease and heart attack, amputation, pancreatic tumors, vascular and neurological pathologies, experts recalled.
