Over the years, children are more skeptical about the words of adults. This is the conclusion reached by researchers from the University of Toronto.
Children learn by themselves through observation and experimentation, but they are also attentive to the words of authoritative adults. And those include dads, moms and teachers. If children hear something unusual, they check it and ask questions, or check the statement they hear. Previously, scientists have found that the ability of children to test and explore adult statements that they do not expect is based on age. So, children after 6 years of age check the data more often than babies aged 4 and 5 years.

However, there is a limited amount of research on why children check facts in response to some statements from adults. And now scientists have found that over the years, children are less and less trusting adults at their word. This explains why older children are more likely to try to check the words of adults and purposefully study various objects.
Poll: Majority of Americans believe in God
The results of the study show that older children should definitely double-check the words of adults that seem unexpected to them. As children grow older, they are more likely to doubt what adults say, and as a result, their exploration becomes more deliberate, focused, and effective. Children do not believe everything they are told, which is why children need more information. (READ MORE)
