Dietitian and nutritionist Dmitry Semiryadov spoke about products that can help prevent cancer.

According to the doctor, it is important to understand that no change in diet can 100% prevent or even cure cancer.

“However, there are substances on our table that can potentially help reduce cancer risks,” he noted.

Semiryadov advises adding broccoli to the diet due to its sulforaphane content. Sulforaphane reduces the size and number of breast cancer cells.

Carrots are useful, as they contain many useful substances, including beta-carotene, which is a powerful antioxidant.

— There are several studies showing that regular consumption of carrots reduces the risk of developing stomach cancer by 26%. And by 18% — the risk of developing prostate cancer, — the specialist said.

Other products include beans containing fiber, berries rich in anthocyanins. The list also includes nuts, fish, and olive oil.

There is such a thing as an anti-cancer diet. It is aimed at reducing the risk of developing cancer and maintaining overall health.

  • Increase your fruit and vegetable intake. Choose brightly colored fruits and vegetables, as they contain various antioxidants and phytonutrients.
  • Give preference to whole grains (oatmeal, brown rice, quinoa) instead of refined grains. They are rich in fiber, which promotes digestive health.
  • Reduce your intake of red meat (beef, pork) and avoid processed meats (sausages, hot dogs), as they have been linked to an increased risk of some cancers.
  • Drink plenty of water and choose green or herbal teas, which contain beneficial antioxidants.
  • Include healthy fats in your diet, such as olive oil, avocado, nuts, and omega-3-rich fish (salmon, mackerel).
  • Reduce your intake of added sugars and processed foods, which can contribute to inflammation and weight gain.
  • If you drink alcohol, do so in moderation.
  • Being overweight and obese is associated with an increased risk of cancer, so it is important to monitor your weight and lead an active lifestyle.
  • Regular exercise (at least 150 minutes of moderate activity per week) helps maintain health and reduce the risk of cancer.
