Broccoli and yogurt: two foods to fight cancer

According to Singaporean scientists, to prevent cancer, it is worth eating more broccoli with natural yogurt (without any additives).

The results of the study are published in Food. news. Scientists conducted it on laboratory mice. The rodents were divided into two groups, one of which ate a mixture of yogurt and broccoli, and the other did not.

It turned out that this mixture helped eliminate about 75 percent of tumors in mice with colon cancer. Experts claim that it “worked” exclusively against colon cancer cells, although rodents have also had other types of cancer. to eliminate cancer cells that may have remained in the body after removal of the tumor.

Broccoli has a unique property: it contains sulforaphane, which can neutralize the damage from advanced glycation end products. This is one of the key factors in rapid aging. They are also associated with cardiovascular disease, obesity, type 2 diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer's disease.

Sulforaphane can slow down and even prevent the growth of tumors, reduces inflammation, experts say. It is also found in cauliflower, white cabbage, kohlrabi, watercress, but broccoli has the most of it.

Broccoli contains powerful antioxidants that neutralize damage caused by free radicals. This also protects the body from the development of cancer.

There are many compounds in broccoli that help reduce inflammation. Kaempferol, for example, is a flavonoid that has powerful anti-inflammatory potential. Eating broccoli while smoking also lowers markers of inflammation.
