Blackcurrant speeds up metabolism and burns visceral fat

Blackcurrant is an excellent source of the antioxidant anthocyanin. It helps to normalize blood pressure and lower blood sugar, which is especially important for people with diabetes.

In one study, 16 women took 600 mg of blackcurrant extract per day for a week. At the end of this period, the participants cycled for two hours, and their blood samples were collected at the beginning and at 15-minute intervals throughout the exercise. The extract was noted to increase mean fat oxidation by 27 percent.
