5% of schoolchildren suffer from post-COVID syndrome
Post-COVID syndrome affects every 20th high school student. In their case, the symptoms of coronavirus persist for a period of 12 weeks or longer, as established by scientists from the UK.

One out of every 20 high school students experienced symptoms of post-COVID syndrome after contracting the coronavirus itself, and most of them could subsequently develop serious mental disorders, according to a report from the Office for National Statistics. It showed that 4.8% of middle school students and 1.8% of elementary school students experienced symptoms of coronavirus infection 12 weeks after the initial infection. These are the data as of March this year.

Regular statistics on this population generally did not compare different age groups, as experts simply asked people if they were currently suffering from post-COVID syndrome. And studies in schools asked the same question to students. However, recent large-scale observations last year showed that at that time 5.8% of the population suffered from post-COVID syndrome, and the number of schoolchildren with this syndrome has steadily increased since that study.

However, the statistics on the growth are not significant, since they were also explained by the increase in the number of cases. However, current information shows that post-COVID syndrome is quite common among children of all ages, and this is a worrying trend, since this disorder can have a very negative impact on a developing child's body.
