Doctor Nuria Dianova: the benefits of tea with lemon are often overstated.

Is tea with lemon really good for you? Answering this question for Radio 1, doctor Dianova said that many people make one mistake when preparing it – they put lemon in a hot drink.

“When lemon gets into hot tea, it instantly destroys vitamin C in itself,” the doctor said.
The specialist also drew attention to the fact that vitamin C, present in lemon, is destroyed when the citrus is cut and served with tea in sliced form. According to the doctor, when in contact with air, reactions occur in the lemon pulp that significantly reduce the content of valuable vitamin in it.

“It is better not to cut a lot at once, but to trim gradually,” Nuria Dianova shared her advice.
The doctor added that it is preferable to drink water with the addition of fresh lemon. You can additionally add herbs to it – for example, mint or tarragon. Tea with lemon is more of a taste habit than something useful, the specialist noted.
