According to agronomist Mikhail Vorobyov, eating cherries treated with toxic chemicals can lead to poisoning, in this regard, the expert recommends buying only “clean” berries.
< br>“You need to inspect the fruits before buying them in order to eliminate the risk of poisoning with pesticides,” the agronomist shared his advice in his interview.

Vorobyev noted that some farmers are overly aggressive in the fight against agricultural pests, and berries, especially early ones, can be treated with chemicals that are potentially toxic to the human body.

“If you feel an unpleasant tingle in your mouth when eating cherries, this may be a sign that pesticides have remained on the berry that should not be,” Vorobyov said.
The specialist emphasized: such a berry can provoke symptoms of severe poisoning. The expert also called a sign of sweet cherry, which can be poisoned due to its likely treatment with chemicals.

The expert called this sign the presence of a whitish coating in the place of the recess for the stalk.

“In the place where the stalk is attached to the berry, there is a hollow. If the berry was relatively recently treated with some kind of pesticides, then there will be a whitish coating in this depression. ”
Vorobiev advised always paying attention to the color of the cherry cavity – if it is whitish, you should stop buying the berry.
