Salmon fillet relieves hypertension

Salmon fillet relieves hypertension
One large salmon fillet daily is the secret to keeping blood pressure within healthy limits. This conclusion was made by scientists from the University of Macau in China.

Eating one salmon fillet daily will help keep blood pressure levels under control. Chinese scientists have found that consuming 3g of omega-3 fatty acids daily is the absolute optimal dose for people of all ages. This amount is contained in approximately 120 g of salmon. The authors of the study conducted a meta-analysis of 70 scientific papers involving 5,000 people aged 22 to 86 years.

Three or more grams of omega-3 fatty acids per day have been found to lower blood pressure by an average of 2 mmHg in just 10 weeks. This applies to both systolic and diastolic pressure. But in victims of hypertension, this decrease more than doubled.

According to Chinese scientists, vegetarians and vegans can also enjoy the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids without even eating fish. To do this, they need to receive nutritional supplements. Of course, this pressure reduction is by no means outstanding, but it is still significant, given that it is achieved not with the help of drugs that have a lot of side effects, but by eating the right foods. Today, Russians are advised to consume at least 80 g of omega-3 fatty acids weekly. (READ MORE) Macau University
