Trichologist Victoria Tolstonosova: the basis of beautiful hair is a variety of protein foods.

Trichologist Tolstonosova told what to eat to improve the condition of hair. She noted that “superfoods”, on which positive characteristics of hair largely depend, are sources of protein and omega-3 fatty acids.

“You should include protein foods in your diet, since hair consists mainly of protein. For example, eggs, which contain a lot of protein and biotin, which strengthens the hair structure and stimulates its growth. Fatty fish – herring, salmon, sardines, mackerel – are relevant due to the large amount of omega-3 fatty acids that are not produced in the human body. Fish is also rich in vitamin D, which has a beneficial effect on the functioning of hair follicles,” the specialist explained in a conversation with Moslenta.
In addition, Tolstonosova added, you should eat foods containing iron (its main source is red meat). If iron deficiency occurs, this negatively affects the appearance of the hair and contributes to hair loss, dryness and brittleness.

Talking about the healthiest food for hair, strengthening it and improving its appearance, the trichologist advised not to forget about products with vitamin A, which has a beneficial effect on the scalp, makes hair elastic and strong, and prevents hair loss. Other vitamins that are necessary for good hair condition are vitamins B, C, and E.

In addition, the trichologist recommended eating foods rich in zinc – this microelement activates the production of keratin and collagen, making hair thick and strong.
