Nutritiologist Olga Sysova: there are certain benefits from eating soup, but its importance in preventing ulcers is exaggerated.

It is believed that regular consumption of soups is a beneficial habit when it comes to preventing gastritis and ulcers. However, nutritionist Sysova is convinced: the importance of eating soups for the prevention of ulcers is a myth.

Olga Sysova noted that such common gastrointestinal problems as ulcers and gastritis arise primarily under the influence of inflammation on the tissues of the digestive tract. Soup cannot be a way to treat the inflammatory process.

“The belief that soups help prevent stomach ulcers, gastritis and other similar diseases is nothing more than a myth. These ailments are caused by constant poor nutrition, long-term use of medications, stress, and bad habits,” the specialist shared with NEWS.ru.
Sysova said that soups in the diet can be very useful for existing problems with the gastrointestinal tract. Warm, rather than hot, soups are most comfortable for the gastrointestinal tract; from such food it can get the maximum amount of nutrients without unnecessary stress.

The MedikForum.ru portal previously wrote about the negative consequences of drinking water in the morning on an empty stomach with lemon.
