Nutritionist Olga Rassokhina told what health benefits can be brought by daily consumption of 50 grams of cranberries.

Nutritionist Rassokhina advised Russians to include cranberries in their daily diet – the specialist called this berry a storehouse of useful substances.

“An adult needs 50 grams of fresh berries per day to fully replenish the daily requirement of vitamins C and K, potassium and manganese,” the nutritionist noted in a comment to NewsNN.
According to Rassokhina, 50 grams of cranberries eaten daily provide a protective effect against early aging. The specialist explained that the berry contains a large number of antioxidants that prevent free radicals from destroying the body's cells – thanks to this effect, the aging process is slowed down.

Another useful property of cranberries is their ability to prevent infectious diseases of the urinary system.

“In addition, cranberries improve the condition of the cardiovascular system, as they reduce the level of “bad” cholesterol in the blood, and also prevent plaque formation on the teeth and strengthen the gums,” the expert added.
Rassokhina drew attention to the fact that the sour berry can irritate the mucous membrane of the digestive tract. According to the nutritionist's recommendation, in case of gastrointestinal diseases, cranberries should be consumed strictly in moderation during or immediately after – never on an empty stomach.
