Which bread is the healthiest? Nutritionist Mukhina answered this question to Moscow 24.

“Whole grain sourdough bread is considered the healthiest,” the specialist said.
The doctor specified that this bread differs from regular bread in that it contains a higher content of useful substances. According to Mukhina, regular bread is made from refined grain, which during the cleaning process loses its most useful part – the outer shell, which contains vitamins, amino acids, and microelements. It is present in whole grain bread. Thanks to this, it gives the human body substances that support its functioning and are useful for immunity.

“Whole grain bread contains vitamins E and group B, and 100 grams contain 30% of the daily value of zinc, iron, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, and 10% of the daily value of protein,” said Mariyat Mukhina.
In addition, the nutritionist added that whole grains and products containing them are a source of insoluble fiber, which cleanses the intestines, activates the removal of potentially harmful components, and slows the absorption of cholesterol and sugar into the blood.

The doctor also gave a positive assessment to sourdough bread. Such a product is considered more natural, she said. At the same time, the expert advised remembering: even healthy types of bread require moderation so as not to create an excess of calories.
