“Potassium in its composition is good for the health of the heart and blood vessels, and the combination of phosphorus and calcium, various phenolic and flavonoid compounds contributes to the prevention of diseases of the musculoskeletal system,” the specialist informed.
In addition, nutritionist Mansurova added, plum contains iron and useful for the prevention of anemia. In addition, getting enough iron in the diet is important for maintaining a healthy thyroid gland.

“Plum is rich in iron: 2.1 mg of iron per 100 grams of the product,” the nutritionist clarified.
Irina Mansurova also said that the use of plums has a positive effect on the state of the liver, blood pressure, helps to reduce “bad” cholesterol and stabilize blood sugar levels – this effect is due to the high content of fiber in it.

At the same time, the specialist advised to eat plums in moderation – no more than 150 grams per day. People with gastrointestinal diseases, rheumatism and urolithiasis should use it with great care.
