Nutriciologist Olga Ilyicheva: the timing of meals has a significant impact on the process of fat deposition and a person’s weight.

Nutriciologist Ilyicheva said in an interview with Lenta.ru “that to lose weight you need to eat breakfast and dinner properly. The expert emphasized that breakfast should be hearty, while dinner should be as light as possible.

“The timing of meals can be critical for fat storage and affect the effectiveness of weight loss. The regulation of the functioning of the digestive system and other organs responsible for the absorption and metabolism of food: liver, pancreas, adipose tissue depends on it,” the specialist emphasized.
Ilyicheva added that the researchers were able to establish that when eating a more substantial breakfast, the body spends two and a half times more calories to digest food compared to when dinners are more substantial. The specialist drew attention to the fact that after rich morning meals, the increase in blood sugar and insulin levels is less intense (when compared with hearty meals in the evening). If a person regularly has a late dinner, and a substantial one at that, the risk of developing metabolic disorders, which are closely associated with excess fat deposition and the development of type 2 diabetes, will sharply increase, the nutritionist warned.

“To prevent weight gain or to lose weight, you need to make breakfast the most dense meal of the day, including sources of animal and vegetable protein, fiber. You should have dinner three to four hours before bedtime, including non-starchy vegetables, light protein, and fermented foods in this meal,” the specialist shared her advice.
Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote about what drinks you can drink in the morning instead of coffee to activate fat burning processes.
