Many people with hypertension can afford coffee, but there are certain restrictions on this drink.

Famous Russian nutritionist Mikhail Ginzburg explained in interview when hypertensive patients can drink coffee. The doctor noted that the popular drink has the ability to increase blood pressure, however, it does not affect all people in this way.

“For many hypertensive patients, maybe even for the majority who take the appropriate drugs, coffee does not affect the pressure,” Dr. Ginzburg told Moscow 24.
The doctor advised to measure the pressure after drinking coffee – this should be done after twenty or thirty minutes. Then it will be easier to understand how its use affects blood pressure. If their increase does not occur, hypertensive patients can safely drink coffee without fear of unpleasant consequences.

But if your blood pressure rises after drinking coffee, it is better to replace such a drink with a decaffeinated analogue, and you also need to carefully monitor the caffeine content in the diet in general.

Drinking up to five cups of coffee a day in autumn is useful >Mikhail Ginzburg added that he personally finds the presence of coffee in the menu of hypertensive patients undesirable in principle.
