Endocrinologist Yana Koroleva: not only dairy products can provide the body with calcium.

There may be non-dairy sources of calcium in the diet, the doctor talks about this The Queen said in an interview with Gazeta.Ru.

“If a person does not want or cannot consume dairy products, he needs to look for alternative sources of calcium. The best of them are greens, cabbage, canned fish, soybeans, nuts,” the specialist stated.
The Queen drew attention to the fact that refusal of milk can be caused by intolerance to lactose – milk sugar. In addition, a similar recommendation is given to people with a cow's milk allergy or high cholesterol levels. According to the doctor, they should include non-dairy sources of calcium in their diet – parsley, dill, a variety of cabbage (especially broccoli), sesame seeds and sardines, sometimes canned fish, berries, grapes, oranges, dried fruits.

“If dairy products are not prohibited, then consuming three servings of dairy products per day is sufficient. For example, one serving is considered to be 150 g of cottage cheese, 200 ml of milk or fermented milk products (kefir, fermented baked milk, ayran, etc.), 150 g of yogurt or 30 g of hard cheese,” the doctor shared.
The Queen emphasized that sufficient consumption calcium helps keep bones and teeth strong, promotes the development of muscle mass and the active functioning of the cardiovascular system.

The MedikForum.ru portal previously wrote that eating dark chocolate is very useful for maintaining heart health.
