Juice that can reduce the thickness of plaque in the arteries by 30%

Accumulation of plaques and an increase in their thickness in the arteries is fraught with the development of dangerous complications, including coronary heart disease and stroke – drinking pomegranate juice helps to counter this.

The appearance of plaque in the blood arteries is associated with high levels of cholesterol, in particular the so-called “bad” LDL cholesterol, which directly contributes to the fact that the vascular walls are covered with a specific plaque. This is a major risk factor for atherosclerosis, a pathological condition in which the arteries become clogged with accumulations of fatty substances called plaques or atheromas.

These plaques, which build up on the inner walls of the arteries, are made up of various substances that circulate in the blood (these include calcium, cholesterol, cellular waste, and other components). In response to plaque formation, body cells secrete substances that can worsen clogged arteries, increasing the likelihood of associated diseases.

At the same time, researchers studying the effect of pomegranate juice on the lipid profile have made promising findings about its cholesterol-lowering ability, reported the journal Clinical Nutrition.

In particular, scientists observed a marked reduction in the thickness of arterial plaque and plaques in patients who consumed pomegranate. The results showed that people drinking pomegranate juice had a 30 percent decrease in carotid artery thickness, which did not happen with those who drank the placebo drink, the source said.

It was also recorded that showed that after one years of drinking pomegranate juice, patients' systolic blood pressure decreased by 12 percent.

Scientists believe that the polyphenols contained in the pomegranate, which are its main source of antioxidant activity, are responsible for these effects. Under their influence, the function of the inner lining of the heart and blood vessels improves, the researchers postulated.

Heart Health Supplement: Significantly reduces the dangerous accumulation of cholesterol in the arteries

Experts emphasize: to prevent the accumulation of cholesterol, it is necessary to reduce consumption foods high in saturated fat, eat more vegetables and fruits containing soluble fiber. It turns into a thick gel in the intestines, which slows down digestion and retains fats, preventing them from being absorbed. Plant sterols and stanols, which are abundant in nuts, seeds and vegetable oils, can also limit the amount of cholesterol absorbed by the body. that some vegetables can raise blood sugar levels.
