According to doctors, it is useful for women aged 50+ to consume cocoa daily – it helps prevent the appearance of atherosclerotic plaques.

Specialists from Rospotrebnadzor in the Volgograd region said about the health benefits of cocoa. Experts noted that cocoa has a reputation as a record holder for the level of polyphenols – antioxidants that fight oxidative processes in the body and slow down aging.

In addition, the composition of cocoa is characterized by a high content of magnesium, which the nervous system especially needs. Thanks to its sufficient intake, psychological calm, relaxation, and good mood are maintained – the body copes better with the effects of routine stress.

Doctors have also linked the benefits of cocoa for women 50+ with the prevention of atherosclerosis.

“In women, Age 50+ cocoa should become part of the daily diet. The drink prevents the formation of atherosclerotic plaques,” reports RIAC.
The positive effect of cocoa on blood vessels is associated with the presence of flavanols – these substances can improve blood circulation, lower blood pressure, and improve the flexibility of blood vessels. Thanks to the action of cocoa flavanols, the risk of heart disease and stroke is reduced, and processes are activated that normalize the content of cholesterol and other fatty components in the blood and prevent blood thickening. All this helps protect blood vessels (including brain vessels) from the development of thrombosis and dangerous blockages, atheroskerosis, ischemia.

One of the experts, nutritionist Yulia Chekhonina, added that cocoa should be cooked without adding sugar and with milk. In this case, the fat-soluble vitamins contained in it will be optimally absorbed by the body.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that it is useful for people prone to hypertension to include boiled potatoes in their diet.
