Oncologist Alexander Sysoev spoke about the influence of diet on the condition of the prostate gland in men.

Doctor Sysoev reported: the eating habits of the stronger sex have a serious impact on their susceptibility to prostate diseases, including adenoma and cancer. In particular, the specialist warned, men who are drawn to eating meat and dairy products risk hearing an unfavorable diagnosis with age. The doctor named the meat and dairy diet as one of the main “culprits” of the spread of prostate cancer among men living in the United States, developed European countries and Russia.

“A dietary pattern in which exclusively animal fats predominate directly affects the development of prostate cancer. For example, the high content of saturated omega-6 acids in dairy products, butter and red meat, when consumed frequently, can negatively affect the condition and function of the gland,” Sysoev noted in a commentary to Gazeta.Ru.
In turn, he added, vegetables, soy products and fish present in the diet of men have a beneficial effect on prostate health. Tomatoes that have undergone heat treatment are especially useful: in this form, they become a very rich source of the antioxidant lycopene, which helps maintain the health of the genitourinary system in the male body.

“Surprisingly, but it's a fact: eating dishes with tomatoes at least 3-4 times a week helps men maintain prostate health and feel good,” said Alexander Sysoev.
Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote about how sedentary work can affect men's health.
