Doctor Solomatina: plum is considered an anti-aging product due to its ability to suppress inflammation

Nutritionist Elena Solomatina: the common plum has a valuable quality that makes it an “anti-aging” product.

Doctor Solomatina advised Russians to include plums in their diet if there are no contraindications. The doctor noted that their consumption activates the intestines and promotes more effective cleansing of the body from potentially dangerous substances.

“The fiber in the fruit effectively absorbs all the toxins that form in us during digestion or come from outside. These are radionuclides, excess sugars, cholesterol, heavy metal salts,” the expert noted in an interview with Moscow 24.
Another important property of plums is their positive effect on the vascular system. Solomatina clarified that plums contain potassium and magnesium, and also have a mild diuretic effect, which helps keep blood pressure normal.

In addition, the doctor added, plums are considered an anti-aging product due to their ability to suppress inflammation. Dark plums are rich in antioxidants, which successfully fight free radicals – these are the particles that provoke the development of inflammation, destroying the integrity of cellular structures.

“Inflammation leads to the development of cardiovascular diseases, atherosclerosis, stroke, heart attack, cancer, diabetes. Plum partially extinguishes this “fire”, so it is considered an anti-aging product,” the nutritionist explained.
Attention: plums need to be eaten correctly. Since they contain quite a lot of sugar, you should not eat more than 3-5 fruits per day. If you have diabetes, you should eat sour, not sweet varieties. If you have problems with the gastrointestinal tract (not in the acute stage), on the contrary, sweet fruits are suitable, but without the peel.
