Doctor Shamaeva: a number of foods can cause gastritis, disrupting the functioning of mucosal cells

Gastroenterologist Patemat Shamaeva named semi-finished meat products among the products that provoke gastritis.

Doctor Shamaeva recalled in a comment to Gazeta.Ru, that eating habits and food choices for daily nutrition have a significant impact on the state of the gastrointestinal tract. The doctor noted that a number of foods can cause gastritis when they are consumed on a daily basis.

“The quality of nutrition directly affects health in general, especially the condition of the gastrointestinal tract. Eating certain foods can contribute to the development of gastritis,” said the gastroenterologist.
Shamaeva listed products that can cause diseases of the digestive tract (including gastritis).

  • Energy drinks;
  • Carbonated drinks and lemonades;
  • Semi-finished meat products;
  • Industrially produced sauces;
  • Products rich in sugar or sweeteners;
  • Fried products in oil;
  • Spices

“If consumed frequently, these products can damage the gastric mucosa and provoke the development of gastritis due to disruption of the cellular mechanisms of restoration of the mucous membrane,” the expert stated.
According to the doctor, if it is not possible to completely eliminate these foods from the diet, you should strive to limit them.

Shamaeva also drew attention to the fact that apple cider vinegar should be taken with great caution. In case of existing chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, its use can cause their exacerbation, including gastritis and gastric ulcers.
